Mahmudullah awaits the 200th ODI

Agency :
Mahmudullah's 200th ODI will be the third match of the ODI series against Zimbabwe today if there is no last-minute injury or obstruction.
He made his ODI debut on July 25, 2007, at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. He had played One hundred ODIs after seven years, against India in Mirpur. He is going to play two hundred matches after seven more years.
He will be the fifth Bangladeshi cricketer to score a double century by matches, as only four more Bangladeshi cricketers have reached this milestone before Mahmudullah.
Mushfiqur Rahim is above all for the Bangladeshi cricketers with 226 matches. Mashrafe bin Mortaza and Tamim Iqbal have played 216 matches for the country and Shakib Al Hasan has played 214 matches.
Mahmudullah is at the top of Bangladesh not only in match counts but also on other pages of the record book, as he has scored 4,469 runs in 199 ODIs, the fourth-highest for the country. He has bagged 76 wickets, being the seventh in the country.
He is the most successful in fielding. No one else in Bangladesh has more catches than him, as he has 69 catches under his belt currently.
He has tasted victory in 92 matches for Bangladesh. Here he is fifth.
He scored the first two centuries in the World Cup for Bangladesh. Bangladesh made it to the semi-finals for the first time in a big event with his remarkable century against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy in 2016.
But Mahmudullah means more than these records. He is the 'Crisis Man' of Bangladesh, always relying on danger. He has rescued the team from the disaster many times with the bat. His breakthrough has rescued the team as well with the ball. Many times his small contributions have played a big role for the team. He has been the side hero of the team for many times, but no one could have been the hero without him. Mahmudullah is therefore a valuable asset in Bangladesh cricket.
