Arts faculty centenary scholarship trust fund established at DU

A new trust fund titled "Arts Faculty Centenary Scholarship Trust Fund" has been established in the University of Dhaka (DU) to make the centenary of the university memorable. Dean of the Faculty of Arts of DU Prof. Dr. Abu Md. Delwar Hossain handed over a cheque for Tk. 01crore to the Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman today January 04, 2022 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university to set up this trust fund. It may be mentioned that this amount has been collected from various internal sources of the faculty.
DU Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Registrar Prabir Kumar Sarker and Chairmen of different departments of the Faculty of Arts were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this donation, every year 100 financially challenged students of the Faculty of Arts of DU will be given scholarship.
Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the Dean of the Faculty of Arts to set up this Trust Fund. The financially challenged students of DU will be benefitted from this Trust Fund, he said. This initiative will play an effective role to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, he hoped.
