Journalist's father died in Baraigram

Alhaj Sheikh Shahidullah (90) who was injured in a road accident at Baraigram in Natore died on Tuesday.  Sheikh Shahidullah is the father of a journalist Sheikh Tofazzal Hossain , Natore Correspondent for RTV and an inhabitant of Parkol Village in Baraigram Upazila. He left behind wife, five sons and three daughters. According to local sources, he was injured in a road accident at a crossroads of Baraigram Police Station on January 19 and was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. After a few days, he died at the ICU of the hospital on Tuesday night. Janaza of the deceased  was held at 12 noon on Wednesday at Baraigram Central Eidgah ground. Upazila Chairman  Dr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman Patwari, Head of the Bangla Department of Natore City College Mir Nurul Islam, former vice chairman of the upazila Maolana Abdul Hakim, former mayor of Baraigram Municipality Md. Ishaq Ali and others of the area  were present there.

Awareness campaign to prevent corona

At the initiative of Baraigram Upazila Administration in Natore, mass awareness campaign and masks were distributed to prevent corona. During the campaign in different areas of Bonpara municipal town on Wednesday, UNO  Mst. Mariam Khatun gave an awareness speech highlighting the government rules. She said that everyone must wear a mask while going out of the house during coronation. Otherwise, legal action will be taken as per rules.

Corona infection on rise

Some 40 more corona positive patients were detected out 118 persons during the last 48 hour in the whole of Bagerhat district, according to source of the Office of the Civil Surgeon, Bagerhat on Sunday. But no death report was received from anywhere of the district during the period. Infection rate of corona positive is increasing rapidly in the district. It may be mentioned here that in spite of repeated announcement for maintaining the health care by Bagerhat Pourashava it is neglected by more than 75 percent people the district town.
