No question of reforming RAB: DG

02 October 2022

Staff Reporter  :
The newly-appointed Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), M Khurshid Hossain, has said we are not doing anything for what the elite force RAB needs to be reformed. There is no question that we will reform following the US proposal.
The RAB DG came up with the proposal while he was responding to questions after paying tribute to the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi-32 on Saturday.
The sanctions imposed by the US on RAB officials are being dealt with officially. We have already answered the questions they asked us.
To the questions of the journalists, the RAB DG said, after answering, they did not get a chance to ask counter questions. It is true that those who work may make mistakes. But it has to be seen whether it was done for the benefit of the individual or for the common people of the country.
He said, "We will say, we will deal with these issues officially. Along with diplomatic efforts, we will work against this ban legally. Therefore, we will not work as they talk about reforms. RAB is governed by a specific set of rules. So, we have no challenge (for us)," he said.
