MoU between DU and BDRCS signed

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Geography and Environment of Dhaka University (DU) and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) was signed today January 31, 2023 at the VC's Lounge to share knowledge through research, innovation and training. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman presided over the signing ceremony.
 Treasurer of DU Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and Secretary General of BDRCS Kazi Shofiqul Azam signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institution. Chairman of DU Geography and Environment Department Prof. Dr. M Shahidul Islam, Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker, some other faculty members and officials from BDRCS were present on this occasion.
According to the MoU, every year BDRCS will provide fellowship for some students of DU Geography and Environment Department to conduct research. Besides, Dhaka University and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society will jointly conduct research and training programs.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the BDRCS authorities for signing the MoU. The teachers, students, researchers as well as the nation will be benefited by this initiative, he hoped.  He urged the BDRCS authorities to come forward with their financial supports in conducting fundamental research projects at DU.
