Eviction of illegal structures at proposed site of CMCH Burn Unit

Chattogram Bureau :

The district administration has started eviction of illegal structures at the
proposed site for burn unit to be built with Chinese funding at Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital.
The drive began on Tuesday from 10:30am in the Goanchi Bagan area of Chatteswari Road in the Port City.
District Administration Executive Magistrate Masud Rana conducted the drive.
He told the media that the burn unit is an important project for Chattogram.
There are illegal structures on the site designated for this project. They were ordered to leave by the hospital authorities. But as they did not move within the stipulated time, the eviction operation is being conducted.
CMC Hospital Director Brig Gen Shamim Ahsan told the media that the staff was given a notice to move the facility on February 1because the Chinese delegation wants to start work quickly. But as they did not move on their own, the district administration conducted an eviction drive.
