Highest 42.8°C temp recorded in Ishwardi

In the second phase, Ishwardi again recorded the highest temperature of the country at 42.8 degrees. Ishwardi Meteorological Office observer Nazmul Haque Ranjan said that the highest temperature of the country was recorded at 42.8 degrees on Wednesday. A very intense heatwave is flowing over Ishwardi. Earlier on Monday (April 17), the temperature of Ishwardi was recorded at 43 degrees. He said, 36-38 degree mild heat wave, 38-40 degree moderate and 40-42 degree severe heat wave. A heat wave above 42 degrees is called an extreme heat wave.
Imbardi township is burning with the highest temperature record. There has been a severe heat wave for the past few days. As the intense sun spreads like fire in the light air during the day, the street-markets and even the Eid bazaar are less crowded. People's life has become unbearable due to intense and extreme heat wave prevailing in Ishwardi. Besides, as the amount of water vapor in the air is low, the body is burning as soon as one goes out of the house. Frequent loadshedding is no relief at home either. Load shedding has made life more miserable.
The foreign nationals working in the Rooppur nuclear power project are in trouble due to the rising temperature. Despite the intense heatwave, they are continuing their day's work. However, foreigners are rarely seen roaming outside their workplaces and residential areas. On the surface, foreigners working in the Rooppur project now have a different picture in the residential Green City area.
Where hundreds of foreign nationals walk is deserted. Shops around Green City are also closed. The workers of the project said that they are tired in summer. Having to work in intense heat. Locals themselves are somewhat accustomed to bear the heat, but Russians and other foreign nationals engaged in the project are in danger.
Meanwhile, the water of the surrounding ponds and canals has dried up due to excessive sun and heat. Tubewells do not rise as groundwater levels drop during drought. There is a water crisis across the upazila. About 50,000 people from 10,000 families are suffering from shortage of clean water. There is severe water shortage throughout Ishwardi. 95 percent of homes do not get water in tubewells. Those who have submersible or deep tubewells in their houses are getting clean water. Most of the people are seen crowding the deep tubewell of the mosque for water. Moreover, people are crowding with buckets, pitchers, jugs in the tubewells where little water is rising.
